Stick Wrestling
Our playout this morning was 3 rounds of STICK WRESTLING!
Now I know you might be asking yourself, “What in the world is stick wrestling?” It was something I came across ont he web a while back uwhen I was looking up Old School training.
Basically, we take 4 foot long stick (we actually used a piece of pvc pipe that was handy), get a good grip on it and try to take it from the other person or force them to touch the ground. The rules are simple. If you let go the stick, you lose. If any part of you besides your feet touch the ground, you lose.
We did three rounds of about 1.5 minutes each. We didn’t have a timer with a bell so we went until somebody said “timeout”. The first two round were a draw but I managed to get K to let go in the third round. He put up a valiant struggle though.
Our hands, wrists and forearms were sore afterwards. We were also quite winded from all of the tussling. This was a lot of fun and I’m sure we will do it more often.

Man, I wish I lived near you guys! I can’t imagine how fun this has to be.

I think it’s cool that you find so many creative ways to get some exercise. Thanks for sharing these. It gives the rest of us new ideas as to what exercise and play can look like.

Excellent idea. but since my workout partner is my 5 foot tall 130lb wife I don’t this would be terribly fair.
